FORT PIERCE— Financial assistance is now available to some residents experiencing hardships because of high utility bills. Residential customers of Fort Pierce Utilities Authority, Florida Power & Light Co. or any other utility companies that provide water, sewer, gas, and/or electric are eligible. To qualify for assistance, residents must be at or below 65% of the area median income. For example, a single person in St. Lucie County can't earn more than $32,565 annually to qualify; a family of four can't earn more than $46,475 annually.
